Nude models will be available for drawing from life from 6-8pm. From 8-10pm, a new model will pose for 4 consecutive Mondays to enable painting completion. John Borrelli and Steve will facilitate the evening.

Steve teaches the techniques of the Renaissance and Baroque painters. You will learn ways to prepare an imprimatur that will serve as a grisaille (black and white under painting).
Color glazes will be used to establish the immediate middle tones to be followed by thick luscious paint which serves as a finish to the painting.
Classes are open to all levels of development: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. There are 17 individual still life painting stations to choose from. You may also work from photographs or imagination. There is individual attention given to each student and multiple demonstrations daily.

Figure Drawing
Tuesdays 1:30 - 4:30pm

Drawing is a learnable skill. With guidance and practice, anyone can draw.
Drawing from a live nude model you will be taught how to draw accurately while understanding the basic underlying form.
Steve has been teaching for over 35 years. His vast experience and understanding of the difficulties inherent in figure drawing helps him to guide the student to their highest potential.
Everyday a different aspect of figure drawing will be introduced: portrait drawing, hands and feet, capturing gesture, and descriptive line drawing will all be investigated.
There is individual attention given to each student and multiple demonstrations daily.

Portrait and Figure Painting

All Media Portrait Workshop
Dates TBD
Working from the model, step by step instruction will be given on how to construct the portrait. Students will learn to mix skin tones while focusing on composition and value pattens. All aspects of portraiture will be examined. There will be individual instruction for each student, with daily demonstrations.
