Scholarship Program Update

M.E.C.A. is proud to announce that the second semester of the program has been completed and was very successful. Twenty high school students representing 7 schools participated in the Saturday classes.

With appreciation, we recognize all of the sponsors whose contributions allowed so many talented students to participate in this valuable learning experience. We also thank Rochester Art Supply, Hyatt's, and The Art Store for their donations of art supplies and Home Depot for supplying studio materials.

Finally we extend our thanks to the Rochester City School District and Steve Carpenter for their roles in providing the opportunity for these students to expand their artistic vision and experience, and to the students themselves for their dedication and hard work.

There will be two Saturday classes offered at the Steve Carpenter Gallery and Art Center. The purpose of these classes is to enable the students to seek their fullest potential in painting and drawing, and to help the college bound students to prepare their entrance portfolio.
